Great job! I even emailed the link to my JW brother with the comment: "these two groups read the same manual"

How/when did you become a jehovas witness?
by Lewis1998 inso i've been a protestant for most of my life, it's how i was raised, but recently i started questioning my faith more and more and now i feel like my beliefs resemble that of a jehovas witness rather than a protestant.
i don't know any jehovas witnesses, so i was just wondering how a lot of you found the religion and adapted to it?.

On the way out: "So I like to say that joining a dangerous mind-control cult was better than killing myself"
Finally I can see something good coming out of Christianity. First time it is the better alternative.

I second Carla
Take a good look at JWFacts so you can strengthen your resolve, then move on. Focus on better things: planning your future and education for example.

Do They Still do Door-to-Door as Much as Before?
by cofty insince the advent of the trolleys do the majority of jws still go door to door like we used to?.
do they still have meetings for field service on sat mornings and sun afternoons where most head off to the local territory while one or two go to do trolley work or has the importance of door to door work reduced?.
with the reduction of printing wts and awakes what will they offer at the doors?.

I see trolleys everywhere. And I mean everywhere: festivals, farmer's markets, popular hiking trailheads, shopping center, parks, theme parks, main streets of small tourist towns, etcetera. If so many people are doing the carts, then the D2D preaching must be reduced -

The Watchtower's Real Crisis
by JeffT inwhen discussing the watchtowers financial problems, i've generally been of the opinion that they probably are not in a real financial crisis.
i've come to believe that money may be something of an issue, but its wrapped up in a much larger problem.
this came to me this morning when reading about the annual meeting.. i think the society's leadership is just plain out of ideas.

They may be spending less because they want to keep a bigger share, not necessarily because they are running out of money. Time will tell. My take is that they will be smaller, but the shrinking process will generate a windfall from real estate sales. And that money will disappear into the hands of who knows who. -

2017 Annual Meeting
by Jules Saturn inthis just in from the 2017 annual meeting:.
1. watchtowers and awakes won't be released regularly, at least three watchtower and awakes per year.
6 magazines a year.. 2. a new book is being released: remain in god's love, more of an update like how they did for the what does the bible really teach book.

Didn't Russell say It's time to stop the publications when they had to beg for money. It's happening.

I am pretty sure there's a Spanish version of Crisis of Conscience already in PDF floating in the internet.

Meetings are boring
by Akid48 inmeetings are boring for young kids and old but i'm going to focus on young kids 5 or 8.. i think is unfair that young kids get punished for falling asleep or zoning out.. as meetings are not as boring but i have to go to school the next day and staying up till 10pm isn't the best i can't get out of going.. but think of the young kids that dont even understand most of the teachings.. i know most on the site are adults but i heard of adults falling asleep..

It's painful to be reminded of how I willingly put my own kids through this indoctrination and abuse. Even I put myself through it countless times. I did it because I wanted to be supportive of my wife. That's fine, but why sacrifice my kids. Biggest regret of my life!

almost 2,000 years since the END was expected, always around the corner since the apostle Paul. You can either play along, or have fun with a challenge. How many generations of Bible students/JW's have died expecting the end in their own lifetime? 5?, 6?

Out of the world, into the Truth
by apalro infor some background - i studied on & off as a child with a jehovah's witness who has been patiently working on lots of our family for more than a decade and never gave up on any of us.
as a middle-schooler and a highschooler, my love for jehovah and any association with my childhoood bible teacher... faded.
disappeared.

One bad decision after another. Will you ever grow up?
Out of the world into the cult that will keep you and treat you like a child.
